JUST MOVED INTO A NEW HOUSE? OVERWHELMED BY ALL THE COOKING EQUIPMENT YOU THINK YOU NEED? DON’T WORRY, WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED
Have you just moved into a new apartment/house? Is the kitchen completely bare of equipment and accessories? Don’t have a clue what you’re going to need?
Well fear not, we’re here to help.
We’ve put together a list of 5items that your kitchen can’t do without.
The chopping board
The granite work tops in your kitchen look immaculate. The last thing you want is someone to take a knife to them right?
Then guard them.
Pick up a chopping board and protect your precious work top from the sharp edge of a kitchen knife.
The three pots
The only pots you need are a large one for cooking stews, a smaller one for boiling small amounts of veg or creating some sauces and a skillet. That’s for cooking on your stove.
Don’t scrimp on these either. They’re probably going to see the most action in the kitchen, so if you go cheap they won’t last.
No kitchen is complete without a great knife set. They’re going to be the most useful tool in there.
Look for a set with a wide variety of knives so that you always have the right tool for the job.
You’ll want a couple of mesh strainers. One to strain the larger foods and one for the smaller ingredients that you’ll be using.
A strainer is an essential part of any kitchen, and will help ensure that your veg aren’t soaking wet when you serve up!
Lastly, you’ll need a baking sheet. This is for whenever you want to throw a pizza in the oven or some waffles.
You don’t have to spend a bomb on this, so I recommend getting hold of a couple.
Before I wrap this up I just want to say that you don’t need a microwave. Having one sat in the corner will tempt you to throw a ready meal in.
Don’t cut corners and cook a lovely meal!
So there you go. 5 kitchen essentials that you’ll want to pick up as soon as possible if you want to do some cooking.
